I tried my hand at. . .

embellishing a bottle~First, I covered it with some dainty lace~

Then I added some cloth flowers~

and topped it off with some crinkly seam binding ribbon, a little bling and a tiny rosebud~

I am not particulary "crafty", but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out~Have a happy weekend and beautiful upcoming week!

Magical words from my childhood~

Froggie went a-courtin' and he did ride, M-hm, M-hm. . .

The owl and the pussy-cat went to sea in a beautiful pea green boat. They took some honey and plenty of money wrapped up in a five pound note. . .

Wynken, Blynken and Nod one night sailed off in a wooden shoe--Sailed on a river of crystal light into a sea of dew. . .

The gingham dog and the calico cat, side by side on the table sat; Twas half-past twelve, and (what do you think!) Nor one nor t'other had slept a wink!

These are the words of my childhood, read to me by my sweet momma, and forever etched into my heart. Now at almost 62 years of age, I can still recite them word for word. I will always credit my mother with my love for books and for the English language. Thank you, momma, for your love for literature and for instilling that love in me. Sweet friends, what books, songs or poems bring back childhood memories for you? Hoping your day has been a good one and sending love to you!

The blessings of the Lord. . .

it maketh rich. . .

and He addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22

This verse has been running through my mind the past several weeks.

I wanted to share it with you today. . .

I am feeling very thankful for His goodness and for His many blessings to me. . .

Sending you love and wishes for much happiness today and always! May you feel His presence today!

I've just returned . . .

from New Mexico where I spent the Fourth of July with my seven precious grandchildren~

We had so much fun. . . We shot skyrockets! We danced with sparklers! We grilled hamburgers out of doors!

We planted flowers! We played old fashioned games like "Mother May I?" and "Simon Says"!

We celebrated America and felt very grateful for our freedom and for this wonderful country in which we live!

I am so thankful today for my family and friends~

I am thankful for the safe trip we had and . . .

I am thankful to once again be in my own little bed enjoying peaceful dreams! I hope you had a good holiday, dear friends. Sending love and hugs to you today and always.

No one. . .

is useless to God. . .

No one.

God forgets the past. . .

Imitate Him.

Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of this world, we may forget how important we are in the lives of others. . .Ours may be the kind, reassuring word that someone else desperately needs to hear. Ours may be the gentle touch that says: "You are very special to me and to others!" Ours may be the smile that brings a little sunshine into a not so happy day.

Just a gentle reminder of the difference YOU make each and every day, dear friends, to me and to others!
